I Like Pokémon
Hello 👋,
if you know me you know that I like Pokémon. But what’s surprising is that there hasn’t been any mention to it in my website until now! :D
Recently I visited Japan (my favorite destination ❤️ ), and while being there I challenged myself to get the 151 Pokémon cards from the first generation.
I succeeded 🎉! And to be honest it was easier than I anticipated.
Part of publishing more is growing this site with richer content like this. Hope you like it.
It all started with me buying a couple of cheap random decks on a second hand store. When I came back to the hotel I reviewed the cards I got and, to my surprise, I had more than half of the collection.
It was possible!
The next step was being a bit more direct, and I spent a few hours here and there buying specific cards. To keep costs under control I needed to flip through probably THOUSANDS of cards. No joke! But I had a lot of help from my family! (Thank you!)
With all the cheap decks I bought and the rush of flipping through the cards as fast as possible I ended up buying a lot of duplicated or non-first-generation cards.
Flash forward to yesterday, and I was thinking on how much I liked hunting for Pokémon cards. Add to that the glare in the eyes and smiles from some friends who I gifted cards as a souvenir.
I had an idea! And (more importantly) executed it.
Meet my newest project: Random Pokemon Card. Where you can get a random card from my deck for a symbolic price.
This is not a business, I don’t want to make money. But I don’t want to lose either. So I am charging 1€ + shipping.
But why aren’t you charging only the shipping?
Because I don’t want to spend a lot of time sending cards every day, and adding a symbolic price is a mechanism for me to control demand.
What I really want is getting some random smile in my face and yours. Mine when I forget about this project and an order pops in. Yours when time after you have made the purchase you receive a Pokémon card from Japan.
A tiny piece of my adventure in Japan in your mailbox. This is fun and exciting! Isn’t it?
